Selling Tips

Tag: Handy Articles, Selling StrategiesJane @ 5:29 pm

I’m always on the lookout for handy articles about buying/selling and I saw this in Kiplinger’s issue last month.

From the article, some good home-selling tips are:
Polish the merchandise
Go through a checklist of inside and outside touch-ups
Sell at the right price
Negotiate with buyers

The article also suggests hiring a pro, if necessary. In most situations, I really believe the best way to sell your home is to do it yourself. The main reason someone should consider using a realtor would be for the expert assistance; but as I’m always saying, make yourself the expert!

What’s a FSBO?

Tag: InformationJane @ 12:37 pm

FSBO stands for For Sale by Owner, and it’s a smart alternative to using a real estate agent for homeowners.

HOW IT WORKS
The term is used to identify properties that are for sale directly by their owners, without the assistance of a real estate agent. Typically, owners get the word out about their for-sale homes through websites, classified ads, referrals, and other means. They make their own brochures and take their own calls about showings. They deal directly with the buyer or possibly with a buyer’s agent. In the end, they pay no selling commission, pocketing that cash.
